Attars consist of an extracted substance derived from the distillation of flowers. Balsams are a water-soluble, semi-solid or viscous, resinous exudate from trees and bushes, similar to that of gum resins. Concretes are an extraction of fresh natural plant materials containing non-polar organic solvents (i.e., hexane) which yield a semi-solid wax after removal of the solvent by vacuum distillation.
